Heloiza Barbosa

Audio Documentarian / Executive Producer/ Editor

Heloiza Barbosa (she/her) is a Brazilian audio documentarian who lives in Boston. She walks around with her recorder talking to people and documenting whatever they want to share with her. She crafts intimate stories that tell deep truths in documentaries, and these stories are usually edited collaboratively with the storyteller. 

She is the director and founder of Faxina Media, and her work has been recognized by international awards: Faxina Podcast’s “Between Four Walls” won the Third Coast International Audio for Best Documentary in non-English Language in 2021; Faxina Podcast was considered the best podcast by Spotify Brasil in 2020; and it was selected by the Google Podcast Creators Program in 2020. Heloiza was a visiting fellow at Skidmore College Storytellers Institute in 2021, she was selected as artist-in-residence of The City of Boston in 2022-23 and during her residency she created and produced the audio documentary series “Boston Stories and Numbers”
